Hope you are well.
On March 22, 2004 our new exhibition, Brightly Colored Chinese Porcelains from the Fayerman Collection, Boonecroft, will open. Mr. Severin Fayerman is the steward of the historic home, Boonecroft, built by the grandfather of the renowned hunter Daniel Boone, who discovered the Cumberland Pass and opened Kentucky for settlement. The house stands on a beautifully landscaped, original portion of the 400 acre land purchased from William Penn, the first land owner of Pennsylvania.
This collection of Transitional period and Qing dynasty porcelains includes many of Chinese taste now so sought after by major collectors in the Far East, Europe and the United States, as well as the burgeoning market of collectors within China. There are also several quality Export famille-verte and famille-rose porcelains from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. These selections from the Fayerman Collection represent the most active and hottest area of the Chinese Art market in both demand and price escalation.
Mr. Fayermans collection of Chinese Works of Art grew from a most scholarly approach, beginning with the furnishing of Boonecroft. Having been built in 1733, Mr. Fayerman sought to fill the house with objects made during the same period. Along with colorful Chinese porcelain he has assembled a very fine collection of antique American furniture. Until now this collection of Chinese porcelain has been set against the elegant backdrop of historic and beautiful Boonecroft and his important collection of antique American Furniture.
We are pleased to have objects from a collection of such fine provenance for sale. If you will be in New York we hope you will stop by the gallery. If you will not be in the the area visit our website.
Wishing you the best for 2004!
