The Powerful Search option allows you to search for items by Term/Partial Term,
Inventory Number, Price Range, and Date Posted.
Search by Partial Term can be conducted in Weisbrod Inventory, Collections
(including "Young Collectors" and "Collectors and Curators"), and Catalogs.
The Partial Term search finds items which contain the entered term as a whole sentence,
word, or part of a word.
The Search Depth can be defined for Partial Term search.
The search with depth in item names only is the fastest one. The search with depth in
whole description can be used, for example, to find the items with thermoluminescence
test confirmations, or other information which usually is provided at the end of the
description. The search with depth in name and whole description is the slowest but
the most thorough one.
Search in Inventory and Collections returns the list of item names and inventory
numbers. Search in Catalogs returns the list of item names, catalog names, and
page numbers.
After getting the list of items, you can click on the item name to view the image and
the full description of the piece.
Search by Inventory Number, Price Range, or Date Posted can be conducted in
Inventory and Collections.
When you choose to search by Price Range, you have to choose a particular
range, since otherwise the search will return the list of the items with preselected
price range.
By using the Date Posted search, you can choose between searching for items posted after
a particular date, before a particular date, and in the selected date interval. If
"Between" option is used, the first date will be the beginning of the interval,
and the second date will be the end of interval. In case of an inappropriate
data set (for example "between Oct.1, 2000 and Sep.15, 2000"), the system returns
an empty list.
To search by Partial Term:
Select "Search by: Partial Term".
Select the category to "Search in: Inventory", "Catalogs" or "Collections".
Select the "Search Depth:" from "Name only (factest)" to "Name & description (slowest)".
Type the term in window and click "Submit".
To find item by Inventory Number:
Select "Search by: Inventory Number".
Select the category to "Search in: Inventory" or "Collections".
Type the number in window and click "Submit".
To search by Price Range:
Select "Search by: Price Range".
Select the required price range.
Select the category to "Search in: Inventory" or "Collections".
Click "Submit".
To search by Date Posted:
Select "Search by: Date Posted".
Select the required interval: "After", "Before" or "Between".
Select the required dates in appropriate windows.
Select the category to "Search in: Inventory" or "Collections".
Click "Submit".
