One does not have to be a millionaire to collect Chinese Art. Our family started out with limited funds which in no way limited the excitement of the hunt. The opportunity to collect at a modest price is so vast given the diversity of objects available in different mediums spanning several millennia. Collecting Chinese Art is a lifelong pursuit. Remember, your taste will become more refined as your journey lengthens. Reach for the best object one can buy at any price level. Look at as many objects as possible to get a sense of what you like and don’t like. Touch, feel, examine as many objects as you can or rely on an established dealer with whom you develop a close relationship. . Visit museums, go to lectures, do research, always add to your knowledge of the objects, the styles and the periods that interest you. Make certain all the pieces you purchase meet the important criteria of collecting Chinese Works of Art.   a. The object is appealing to you   b. The object is genuine   c.
